Broadcast Service Centre appointed as Kroma Telecom authorised service centre in UK

Kroma Telecom has announced that Broadcast Service Centre has been appointed authorized Service Centre in the United Kingdom for the Kroma Telecom range of professional Broadcast Monitors and Intercom systems.
The Service Centre, based near Reading, will provide maintenance and repair services for Kroma’s monitors, enabling the company to offer its growing customer base in the UK an even greater level of support.
The appointment of BSC marks a significant milestone in Kroma Telecom’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the UK, allowing the delivery of local support and to enable customers to maximise their return on investment.
With a steady growth in sales in the UK the company sees further business opportunities in the country across its product range in a number of areas including Broadcast, Outside Broadcast, Production, Post-Production, Corporate and Educational facilities.
This latest step in the UK is also part of Kroma Telecom’s continuous effort to enhance its global presence through the provision of local service centres for its customers. By doing so the company aims to support its customers at locations close to where they are situated in order to best serve their client base.

TAMUZ is proud to announce it’s most recent ground breaking development. The world’s first OLED powered quadruple rack monitor to display SD, HD and graphic signals.
Our new monitor, OCM 404 W HD is mechanically a very compact device equipped with four 4.3 " (11 cm) wide screen OLED displays. With dimensions of only two rack units and a depth of approximately 2“ (48 mm) this monitor was constructed for the first time to house the OLED's within a monitor bridge.
This self-light-emitting displays have quite a number of advantages compared to common LCD technology, however they are still accompanied by higher costs.

Wohler Technologies Inc. have announced further enhancements to its AMP1-16-3G and AMP2-16 Series 16-channel audio monitors with new features and menu options that bring even greater convenience and functionality to multichannel monitoring. Improved access to audio levels and settings, newly added live mixing capabilities for the AMP2-16 Series, and more powerful monitoring and control functions at their fingertips now give operators the flexibility to adapt in real-time to the monitoring demands of complex broadcast operations.
With available redundant power supplies and new Free Mix mode, the AMP2-16 Series is now fully transmission-chain ready and thus reduces the dependence on traditional audio mixing consoles. When equipped with AES or analog output cards, the AMP2-16 Series Free Mix mode supports mixing and outputting of any combination of channels. Through an intuitive configuration menu, users can easily control levels, mix multiple input channels to multiple output channels, and set front-panel control options. These mixes can be performed independently of the audio monitoring function, while the AMP2-16 Series audio monitoring and level metering functions can be used to monitor the result of the mix.

MASTER CONTROL ROOM UPGRADE WITH CHRISTIE

When MTV Networks International set out a three year programme for a technology upgrade at its Camden Town HQ, Senior Systems Engineer Rob Cranfield knew that the front end monitoring would represent the final phase.
The Master Control Room (MCR) and equipment hub have now been completely overhauled, the former old-technology CRT displays making way for a Christie solution.
Aware of Christie’s presence in the market, the engineering team visited other leading broadcast facilities in the UK and Europe, before Rob Cranfield carried out his own subjective evaluation when planning the upgrade.

The new LM-503HD Multi-format Triple 5” Colour LCD Monitor is the latest addition to TV One’s growing range of Broadcast and Production LCD Displays and will be on display for the first time at the ISE 2010 Exhibition being held in Amsterdam.
The LM-503HD can accept a multitude of video signal formats that may be accurately monitored. With dual selectable SD/HD/3G inputs, this is Wohler's first 1RU 16-channel 3G audio/video monitor with Dolby® E as well as being Dolby Digital Plus ready. The straightforward control interface and overall look and feel mirrors that of Wohler's new AMP2-E16-3G 16 channel audio monitor. Like the AMP2-E16-3G, the new AMP1-E16-3G provides monitoring for up to 16 channels of embedded audio within a single multirate SDI signal, thus serving as an ideal solution for complex multichannel and surround applications. Two of the three OLED screens can monitor 16 channels of audio simultaneously with flexible options for high-resolution 180-segment audio metering, while the third screen may display video or data. The screens also support the systems' intuitive and easy-to-use interface for setup and configuration of monitor features. Integrated loudness measurement and dialnorm data are displayed to alert the operator if signals fall out of compliance with ITU-1770/1771 standards.
The fully digital architecture of the AMP1-E16-3G features high-fidelity class-D amplifiers; flexible assignment of signals allows the operator to configure the monitor to the specific needs of a production. User-selectable metering functions and eight user-defined presets allow the unit to be easily reconfigured.
